Ingredients

4
Chicken breast600 g
Long-grain white rice250 g
Chicken or vegetable broth600 ml
Onion1 pcs
Garlic2 cloves
Carrot1 pcs
Olive oil2 tbsp
Salt and black pepperto taste pcs
Fresh parsley1 tbsp

Steps

1

Prepare ingredients: cube chicken, chop onion and garlic, dice carrot, rinse rice.

8 min💡 Keep chicken pieces uniform (2–3 cm) for even cooking.
2

Pour olive oil into the bowl. Sauté onion, garlic, and carrot to soften and release flavours.

GastroLab:Install stirring attachment. On touchscreen: select Manual → set 100°C, Speed 6, Time 3 min → press knob to start.
3 min💡 Speed 6 allows quick browning without high heat damage.
3

Add chicken cubes. Stir and cook until the surface is sealed (no longer raw-pink).

GastroLab:On touchscreen: adjust Time to 4 min → press knob to start.
4 min💡 Sealing the chicken helps it stay tender. You do not need to fully cook it yet.
4

Add rinsed rice and broth. Stir gently to combine. Season with salt and pepper.

GastroLab:On touchscreen: adjust Time to 25 min → press knob to start.
25 min💡 The stirring attachment keeps rice from sticking and ensures even heating. Broth should simmer gently; temperature stays at ~100°C.
5

Once the timer stops, let it rest in the bowl (lid on) for 2–3 minutes. Fluff with a fork. Check that rice is tender and chicken is fully cooked (no pink inside).

GastroLab:Remove the bowl from the CR1S. Keep lid on for resting time.
3 min💡 If rice is still slightly firm, add 100 ml hot water and run Manual mode at 100°C, Speed 1, for 5 more minutes.
6

Divide into bowls, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.

2 min💡 Drizzle with a touch of olive oil or top with a squeeze of lemon for brightness.
Chef's note: This recipe is quick because the rice and chicken cook together in one step, with the gentle stirring preventing sticking. If you prefer a saucier dish, use 700 ml broth instead of 600 ml. Serves 4 as a complete main course.
